Cello Lessons

All ages and experience levels welcome!

The cello is a beautiful instrument and a favourite of students young and old. Those who pick it up love learning it, whether that is as their first instrument whilst still at school, or later in life as an adult pursuing a new hobby.

Lessons with me are tailored to each student's needs and designed to make learning (and practicing) fun and effective. This includes making sure you are getting what you want out of lessons - AMEB exams, audition prep, or just some fun and a new skill.

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance (Hons 1), the completion of which sparked my interest in what we think about whilst playing and practicing. This led me to pursue a PhD in music psychology, which I completed in 2023. I have been teaching privately since 2011, including at schools such as Clayfield College, Kenmore State High School, and Good News Lutheran College, as well as running a large home studio. I perform regularly with new music ensemble Nonsemble as well as engaging in freelance work. I look forward to working with you!

Pricing: $75/hour, $60/45mins, $40/30mins
Students must travel to my studio in Forest Lake
