The study of the viola da gamba, especially music for the bass viol, is a rewarding experience for anyone at any age. Whatever your aims are, you will receive instruction in performing all kind of music; from the Italian renaissance consort to the English lyra viol. You will learn all about the practice of historical informed performance as well as basso continuo, bow and left hand technique, interpretation and historical treatises. I place a special emphasis on the French baroque, especially the music of Marin Marais. I am arguably the most educated viola da gamba player and teacher in Australia. I have studied with many of the best teachers in Europe and the USA. Be assured of top-quality instruction.

My dedicated teaching studio is a 3-minute walk from Flemington Station in Homebush West. Skype lessons available for intermediate to advanced students.
