Earle Hunter is a very experienced and successful double bass teacher. He starts his students off with an individual lesson. In this lesson the student is able to have a hands-on experience of a first class instrument. The different Double Bass types are explained, as well as equipment required.
Earle caters for all age groups, as demonstrated in his employment at primary and secondary schools. Adult students are taught privately with flexible hours.
Earle has had students accepted for University music. Earle has helped primary students prepare for AMEB exams, sometimes leading to scholarships. His adult students have gone on to join bands and orchestras. He is able to accomodate the AMEB syllabus – 163 successful students AMEB – or tailor the teaching style to the student needs.
Recently, students have been accepted by Melbourne University for instrumental courses.
Instrument hire is sometimes available of quarter and half-size double basses. Earle is happy to answer any queries and welcomes contact from potential students.
