A ten week (10 x 2.5 hrs = 25 hrs) class that explores film from the point of view of music's relation to drama. This study area is called "musical dramaturgy". Each class will focus on one aspect of film across 100 years of history as a way of discovering how music functions, what makes a good score, how to 'read' drama through music, and what music can and can't tell us. It's a fun class that is not demanding but is insightful. Musical skills are not necessary. No preparation or homework. Just turn up. Contact for further information.
