Australian National Academy of Music (Professional Performance Program), Bachelor of Music (B.Mus QCGU), Associate Diploma of Music Performance (A.Mus.A)
I’m a young but experienced performer and teacher based in Brisbane, with a passion for teaching viola and violin to all ages, abilities and styles including orchestral, chamber and solo music.
I received my Bachelor of Music from the Queensland Conservatorium in 2014 before continuing study in Melbourne at the Australian National Academy of Music until 2018, recently returning to Brisbane as a freelance performer and teacher.
I have performed extensively throughout Australia and internationally with the Queensland and Australian Youth Orchestras, appeared at many Australian Chamber Music Festivals such as Canberra Interntional Music Festival and Huntington Estate Music Festival, and was a member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra Academy in 2017 performing in Germany. I have also performed in collaborations with the Australian Chamber Orchestra, Australian World Orchestra and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, and have worked as a casual musician for the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and Camerata.
I believe it’s never too late to start learning or to try a new hobby, and I also believe that children should be children and shouldn’t be forced into learning the violin. I am also personally against AMEB exams as I believe learning for the love of music, playing and performing is more effective and rewarding than playing for the external approval of an examinations board. However, I do of course understand, support, and prepare any student or adult who really does want to sit these exams.
Lesson times are flexible depending on the student, and I can either teach from home or come to you. Text, call or email to arrange your free first session to see if we’ll work well together!
