I have been teaching piano for 20 years and teaching flute for 18 years from my home studio. I completed a Bachelor of Music degree in 2004 through Queensland University of Technology in piano performance, I have obtained my Associate and Licentiate diplomas on piano performance and my Associate diploma for piano teaching through the Australian Music Examinations Board. In 2014, I was awarded my Associate performance diploma on flute, also through AMEB.
I also have 20 years accompaniment experience for both performances and exams and I am available for work in this area.
I have 32 years experience in solo performance on piano, I have been a featured soloist for Queensland Wind and Brass, I have presented numerous performances at eisteddfods and private functions, I have been the official accompanist for the Enogerra Eisteddfod in 2002 & 2004, I have experience as an accompanist for exams, performances and CSTD ballet exams. I have been a member of Queensland Wind and Brass since 2002 on bass clarinet and as of 2014, I am an associate conductor of Queensland Wind and Brass.
I have been tutoring flute and conducting ensembles at primary school music camps since 2008 and I am available for work in this area. I taught flute and piano at Northpine Christian College and conducted their Intermediate/Senior Ensemble from 2011 - 2014. I also teach piano and the band program at St John Fisher College and I am the band director and tutor at St Dympnas Primary School.
I have limited time slots available before and after school hours but please do not hesitate to contact me regardless! I accept students of all ages and abilities. I do hold a current blue card and I am a professional member and current Vice President of the Music Teachers Association of Queensland. I have served as president of the QMTA from 2016 - 2020 and am also the Convenor of the Queensland Piano Competition.
