Elly Hoyt is a jazz singer, composer and vocal pedagogue. She has a string of awards and scholarships under her belt including the winner of the 2008 Generation in Jazz Vocal Scholarship, 2011 Bell Award Winner for ‘Best Australian Jazz Vocal Album’, and is the first ever-jazz singer to receive the Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarship (2015). Elly tours nationally and internationally playing festivals and clubs including Shanghai World Expo, Bar 55 NYC and Melbourne International Jazz Festival. Elly released her second album Oranges & Sunshine in March 2015 and has been living in Boston Massachusetts where she was studying a Masters of Jazz Performance at the New England Conservatory of Music. Elly holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Voice and a Masters of Music Studies in Vocal Pedagogy and currently lectures in jazz at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University (QCGU) and the Jazz Music Institute (JMI).
