Whether improving your overall technique and performance skills, working towards an audition, or just singing for fun – all students, of all ages and all levels are welcome!
In my studio, I focus on teaching a healthy foundation of classical technique. I’ll work with students to find their natural voice whilst developing an awareness of healthy vocal technique that allows them to sing across genres. We will also work to develop students’ musicianship – including improving music reading (if a beginner) – by incorporating aural and theory work (tailored to each student’s individual needs).
One of the most important and fun aspects of singing is the ability to express oneself as a performer. I work with my students to ensure they understand what they are singing about and how to convey that to the audience. Hence, I will work with repertoire appropriate to students’ age, vocal ability, and understanding. Depending on the repertoire, we will also cover language diction, in English and, if relevant, other languages including French, Italian, German, and Czech.
I hope to share the love of singing with my students and involve them as much as possible in their repertoire selection and their lesson structure. I find this creates a space for more self-driven enquiry and growth within the studio when students are passionate about what they are striving for. However most importantly, we’ll have fun!
