Emily Hanks

  • Bachelor of Music; Majoring in Contemporary Vocal Performance

My name is Emily,

I specialise in teaching all areas of vocal and performance development.
In terms of students, I have taught all skill sets, from beginners to elite professionals.

Our lessons would focus on establishing and developing singing techniques, to help you sing higher, stronger and with a full tone: as well as working on performance techniques to help you grow in confidence and connection when singing on stage.

In terms of my industry experience it is as follows;

I obtained a Bachelor of Music majoring in Contemporary Vocal Performance from the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) in 2010, And I have been teaching university level students at AIM since the beginning of 2013.

I was featured as a session vocalist on 'Horses' by Teddy Cream and Szabo which was released in 2017 and reached #7 on the iTunes charts.

I have supported the likes of Coolio 'Gangsta's Paradise', Stan Walker, Paulini, Ms Murphy, Emily Williams, Something With Numbers and many more.

I have performed at many prestigious events including Telstra Stadium singing the national anthem for the Rugby World Cup, The Basement, Soulfest, Thredbo Jazz Festival, Kiama Jazz Festival, Dulwich Hill Festival, Marrickville Festival among others.

I have sung backing vocals for the likes of Thandi Phoenix, Stan Walker, Karise Eden, Emily Williams and am still regularly performing around Sydney and it's surrounds.

I am able to teach pop, soul, blues, jazz, funk and folk styles and will cover; technique, breathing, repertoire, performance, vocal harmonies, song writing, music theory and beginners sight singing in our lessons together. I have a valid Working With Children Check as well.

Hope to hear from you soon!
