Emily is a highly qualified and experienced educator.
Emily began playing the violin when she was 6 years old. During her time at SCECGS Redlands, she was involved in a number of string ensembles, and was associate concertmaster of the Senior Orchestra. She was also a member of the Sydney Youth Orchestras throughout her childhood until 2009, where she held concertmaster positions on numerous occasions in various ensembles (including the Sydney Youth Philharmonic and Peter Seymour Orchestras). While studying her Bachelor of Music, Emily played with the University of New South Wales Orchestra, holding the position of concertmaster in 2008. Emily was a member of the Mosman Symphony Orchestra for 7 years from 2012-2019, and was Principal Second Violinist for several years.
Emily is Principal Second Violinist in the North Sydney Symphony Orchestra. She is also a founding member and first violinist of Forza Quartet.
Emily is available for private violin and music theory tuition. Lessons are given at the student's home. Fees can be viewed here. Lessons cover audition preparation, ensemble work, preparation for AMEB examinations, general technical instruction, development of sight-reading skills and aural skills training.
Emily currently teaches private students aged 4 to adult in various areas of the Lower North Shore, Northern Beaches and Northern Suburbs. Early morning lessons are available before school to students living in Ryde, Gladesville, and Hunters Hill. Lessons are also available on weekends and evenings.
