Emily is a highly qualified and experienced music educator.
Emily began violin at age 6, and began studying music theory soon after. Throughout her childhood and adolescence, Emily enjoyed being involved in various youth orchestras, including the Sydney Youth Orchestras, where she was often concertmaster or section leader.
Having completed HSC Music 2 and Music Extension (performance major) in 2005, Emily continued her studies at the University of New South Wales, gaining a Bachelor of Music (Violin Performance) and Bachelor of Arts (Education) in 2009. Since then, she has gained experience teaching violin and theory to a range of ages and abilities.
In recent years, Emily has taught at St Michael’s Catholic Primary School, Cromer Public School and Gladesville Public School. In 2017, she will continue to teach both privately and at a number of schools around Sydney including Cromer Public School and Cammeraygal High School, as well as tutoring with various orchestras and ensembles.
Emily is currently principal second violinist in both Mosman Symphony Orchestra and North Sydney Symphony Orchestra, performs as a freelance musician around Sydney, and is first violinist in Forza Quartet.
