Hi, my name is Emily Su and I'm a Japanese-Chinese violinist based in the Gold Coast. I am enthusiastic about sharing the joy of music with my students, and hope that I can do the same for you!

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Medical Science at Griffith University, but I previously studied violin at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) under Dr. Robin Wilson. I have also studied under a scholarship with the Rising Stars Open Academy at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

In 16 years experience playing the violin, I have been fortunate enough to be successful in a number of competitions across Australia. I was recently named Overall Winner of both the 2021 Great Romantics Competition with the MRC and the 2021 Australian Youth Classical Music Competition. This year, I will also be competing in the semi-finals of the 2021 Dorcas McClean Scholarship. In the past, I've been honoured to also be named Overall Winner of the 2018 NSW/ACT Secondary Schools Concerto Competition and a semi-finalist in the 2018 Kendall National Violin Competition. In recent years, I have been fortunate enough to perform as soloist with many orchestras across Australia, including the Academy Orchestra of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Penrith Symphony Orchestra, the Ku-ring-gai Philharmonic Orchestra and the Melbourne Art of Sound Orchestra. I have also worked closely with musicians of the Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and the Australian Piano Quartet among others.

I was awarded my Licentiate (LMusA) and Associate (AMusA) diplomas in violin, both with distinction, as well as my Associate (AMusA) diploma in piano, also with distinction.

I am passionate about providing engaging lessons and encouraging an enthusiastic approach to music learning. I welcome students of all ages and levels and believe that learning music can be such a beautiful addition to life at any age. I teach from my home on Swanston Street, which is quite easily accessed by tram or bus.

My rates are $45 per half hour or $80 per hour. I'm happy to provide online lessons at a discount of $40 per half hour or $70 per hour.

Please contact me if you have any questions at all, and I hope to see you in a lesson very soon!

Best wishes,
Emily :)
