Piano Lessons - Suzuki Method

Group Size Individual Tuition

The ideal starting age can vary greatly depending on each child. I encourage you to book a consultation lesson so we can determine if the lessons are the right fit for you. This also gives me the opportunity to assess whether your child is ready to begin, ensuring we start at the right time for their growth and development.

The Suzuki Method emphasizes strong parental involvement, with parents playing a key role in supporting home practice. In the early stages, parents help guide and supervise practice sessions. As the child develops greater independence, they gradually take on more responsibility for their practice, fostering both confidence and self-discipline. Eventually, parents take a more passive role, but continue to offer support and encouragement, ensuring the child's ongoing motivation and success. This partnership between parent and child is essential for a positive and successful learning experience.

Our lessons are held weekly in a one-on-one format, with options for 30, 45, or 60 minutes, depending on your child's needs and goals. We focus on the Suzuki repertoire, building strong technique, and developing skills in reading, sight-reading, and musicianship.

We offer four concerts a year, one each term. These events provide a wonderful opportunity to celebrate progress and perform in front of an audience.

In terms of assessments, we don't focus on exams until later stages. Our approach follows the Suzuki graduation system, which is unique in that it’s a no-fail system. Instead of focusing on passing or failing, it encourages continuous self-improvement.
