Felicity Flynn is a professional pianist and teacher and tertiary qualified with a Bachelor of Music and Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) from Monash University.
She has studied classical pianoforte professionally with Darryl Coote and Robert Chamberlain (from The Team of Pianists) for a number of years.
Upon graduation, she has taught professionally with a number of leading music companies as well as with her own private teaching business.
Although she is classically trained, she has developed a particular interest in the music of Spain and Argentina including such composers as Ginastera, Ernesto Lecuona and Astor Piazzola.
She performs on a regular basis for the elderly at nursing homes across Melbourne, using her musical gifts to uplift and empower others on an emotional and spiritual level.
Felicity’s role as a teacher is multi-faceted. She concerns herself not only with developing a student’s technical, musical and expressive abilities at the piano, but also providing students with the direction and support they need to overcome emotional barriers or change negative or self-limiting core beliefs that may impede their abilities at the piano or in life.
She has a friendly, kind-hearted and patient demeanor and encourages students to use positive self-talk to help in developing the resilience required to attain their musical goals.
Students learn in a warm and relaxed environment. She allows each student to learn comfortably at his or her own pace and no pressure is placed on students to complete formal examinations. Lessons are tailored to your individual goals and needs.
The most rewarding part of her job is not only seeing her students flourish on a musical level, but also helping them grow in self-confidence and self-esteem and become happy, well-balanced individuals.
Private tuition is offered at her home piano studio in Lilydale, fully furnished with a high quality, complete 88 key, acoustic piano; piano stool’ ambient lighting; ducted heating and waiting area for parents.
Alternatively, lessons can be arranged at the comfort and convenience of your own home for a small additional cost.
