Fiona McVicar

Fiona is an experienced performer and teacher in both classical and traditional Irish styles. She has studied Violin with Janet Davies and Laslo Kiss as well as Viola with Hartmut Lindemann at the NSW Conservatorium of Music. She has more recently spent time furthering her understanding of violin pedagogy with Janet Davies.
Fiona has spent time living in Ireland to develop her traditional playing style and has run Irish music sessions for many years in Sydney pubs as well as taught at workshops for Comhaltas Sydney, the Sydney Slow Session, Sydney Children's Fleadhs and at various different folk festivals. She is currently performing with Blackwater Irish Band and Scottish/Irish traditional group Kejafi and has performed at many pubs, folk venues and festivals as well as the Sydney Opera House.
