General Details

Bachelor of Fine Arts (Contemporary Music) @ The Victorian College of the Arts, Diploma of Music @ Monash University

Hi,

My name is Francis and I am a 24 year old, regularly performing guitarist who has been teaching the guitar since 2014. In 2017, I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Contemporary Music) at the Victorian College of the Arts and in 2013 completed a Diploma of Music at Monash University specialising in teaching music, particularly to people who have never played music before. I am currently the guitar tutor at Emmanuel College, Notre Dame and St. Paul’s Campus’ and at Living Music, Greensborough.

In my time as a teacher, I have found that it is crucial to provide each student with music and exercises that appeal to their own individual tastes, while maintaining a standard of teaching that encourages regular practice and continual improvement. As a result, I find that students enjoy guitar lessons significantly more and practice more regularly. If you like what you’re playing, practicing is easy!

If there’s a particular style, song, artist or goal you’re looking to achieve, I’d be very happy to take the appropriate steps with you to help you reach that. I currently have a few students with a very specific end goal in mind, so we spend our lessons developing the appropriate and specific skills needed to get them there. Other student’s just love the idea of being able to play the guitar and that’s okay too!

I am located in the north west suburbs of Melbourne and have a rehearsal space set up in my home ideal for teaching. I charge $30 for a 30 minute lesson and $45 for 60 minutes. I can also come to you for an extra $5.

All ages, levels and tastes are welcome and beginners are encouraged. I also have a valid working with children’s check.

Hope to hear from you!
