I am a professional flautist and flute teacher based in Sydney's North Shore.
As a passionate flute teacher and musician, I am committed to inspiring students through music and helping them discover enjoyment in music making. Over the past fifteen years I have taught students of all ages and abilities from beginners to AMEB Associate Diploma (AMus) Level.
My students have won prizes in several competitions in England, Wales and Australia, and consistently achieve High Distinction and Honours Marks in their AMEB exams. I have also had students successfully audition for several ensembles in Sydney including ensembles with the Arts Unit, the Northern Sydney Youth Orchestra, Northern Sydney Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and the Arts Alive Combined School Band.
As a performing musician I have worked as a casual musician with the Opera Australia Orchestra as well as having performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra 1813 at the Teatro Sociale di Como in Italy, the Chipping Campden Music Festival Orchestra Academy in England, Opera Holloway, and the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, and have performed in solo recitals at the Foundling Museum in London. In 2019 I was a semi-finalist in the Open Competition at the Australian Flute Festival.
I hold a Masters of Performance from the Royal College of Music, London and a Bachelor of Music Performance with First Class Honours from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
I am happy to teach students to help prepare them for AMEB exams, concerts, eisteddfods, auditions, or just for fun. Please feel free to contact me for more information regarding lessons!
