Gillian is a classical pianist, actively performing in Melbourne on a regular basis. Graduated with Honours in Music Performance at the London Kingston University, Gillian has been teaching for the past 15 years both privately and at music schools. She teaches students from beginner to diploma level, and especially loves teaching young children. She strives to connect with each student to understand their individual needs and musical aspirations.
Being classically trained from a young age, she is very experienced in helping students to develop a strong technical and artistic foundation. Through this approach, students can learn to play in the most natural and efficient manner. Moreover they will also learn to perform with greater technical security, variety of sound and expressivity, allowing them to discover their own unique potential.
Young students will also enjoy learning Music theory and literacy through a series of music games as part of their lessons, a unique approach that has been hugely popular amongst parents and teachers around the world.
Concerts are organised annually for students in a semi-formal venue. While some students may simply want to learn to play for leisure, Gillian also helps preparing students for AMEB and ABRSM examinations in both theory and practical.
