Grant Hardisty

  • Bachelor of Music (Classical Piano) Melbourne Conservatorium of Music
  • Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Voice) The Australian Institute of Music

My name is Grant Hardisty, a 28 year old musician and teacher from Melbourne, although originally hailing from country Vic!

I love teaching music of all genres, using my experience in both the classical and contemporary worlds to tailor lessons to your individual liking. There's nothing worse than learning music that doesn't do it for you and so I thrive off seeing your motivation spike through my unique learning methods.

I constantly hear adults say 'ohh I wish I continued learning the piano when I was younger', but it's never too late to start. Whether you're looking to start from scratch, re-kindle an old interest, master pre-existing skills or simply want to learn a song or two to show-off on that public piano, send me a message!

I tend to focus on contemporary music language to make your skills transferrable to group/band settings as well as solo performance. I am happy to focus on AMEB exam preparation but find that the best results come from when the student has agency over the material they are learning.

Also offering music theory lessons to help with VCE exams, to hasten your practical learning and to allow you to explore the world of songwriting.

Let's get started!

~7+ years teaching experience both privately and in the school system~
