Hawa Juzaila started piano lessons when she was four and violin lessons at seven. She was active in Suara Mas Choir and Malaysia’s National Choir as a child and was given the opportunity to perform singing in Japan. In 1995, Hawa was invited to perform on the violin with The Beppu Symphony Orchestra, Japan as a part of a student exchange program. She has also performed with the Melbourne University Symphonia, Putra Symphony Orchestra (Malaysia). National Symphony Orchestra (Malaysia) and was appointed as Concert Mistress for Whampoa Symphony Orchestra (Singapore) in 2007 and 2008. Hawa does not only play classical music, but has an interest for Jazz, Pop and Ethnic music. She has also performed in Holland at the annual Pasar Malam Besar in June 2003 playing traditional Malay ‘keroncong’ music. Hawa graduated from University Putra Malaysia in 2004 with Bachelor of Music with violin as her major and minor in chamber music. Her mentors include Kirstin Kenny (Melbourne Symphony Orchestra), Pablo de Carrera and Muriel Quistad (Malaysia Philharmonic Orchestra). Mustafa Fuzer Nawi (Conductor of National Symphony Orchestra of Malaysia) and Ma Ying Chun (concertmaster for Tianjin Orchestra China).
Hawa currently performs with the Balmain Sinfonia in Sydney.
Hawa has over 15 years teaching experience having taught in Malaysia, Singapore, Melbourne and now Sydney. She conducts individual and group lessons. Hawa has also undergone teachers training with Suzuki Music Australia.
