Hayden Reiss

North Shore Cello Academy

Private cello lessons in Lane Cove, Sydney, for students of all ages and levels — from beginners to intermediate musicians preparing for AMEB exams, scholarship auditions, and performances. I hold a Bachelor of Music from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts and undertook further Master’s studies at the Sydney Conservatorium with cellist Julian Smiles. With experience teaching both privately and within school music programs, I help students develop strong technical foundations alongside confidence, musicality, and genuine enjoyment of music.

Lessons are individually tailored and may include:

• Posture and bow technique
• Tone production and intonation
• Musical expression and interpretation
• Ear training and music theory
• AMEB and audition preparation

My teaching approach combines structure, encouragement, and creativity, with the aim of helping students become expressive and thoughtful musicians in a supportive learning environment. A complimentary 30-minute introductory lesson is available for new students. Lessons are offered in-person in Lane Cove or online, depending on availability. Please feel free to get in touch regarding lesson rates or enquiries.
