Cellist Hyewon Chang, from Seoul, South Korea has earned a Bachelor of Music Degree at San Francisco Conservatory of Music with the mentorship under Jean-Michel Fonteneau who served on the faculty of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Lyon, France.
She began her formal study for music in Kyungwon University for 2 years as a principal and her passion brought her to the United States to study at SFCM as get a scholarship from the school.
Not only she demonstrated her playing as one of the founding members of the Luminis Ensemble in Korea, but also she had participated in the Miami Summer Music Festival in 2015, and the Texas Summer Music Festival in 2016 as one of the full fellowship.
She has proven herself as a dedicated and determined teacher and has been enjoying in teaching for over 7 years with students in Korea, San Francisco, New York and Perth ranging in ages between 4-50 to further develop an understanding and appreciation for music.
She is working as a teacher for her private students and as a casual cellist in WASO.
