“To play a wrong note is insignificant. To play without passion is inexcusable.” (Ludwig van Beethoven)
My name is Imelda White.
I am a classical pianist who started learning to play at the age of 3. I was incredibly involved in the music programme throughout my school years from the concert choir, jazz band as well as solo competitions (many of which I have won awards). I studied and received a scholarship at the WAAPA (WA Academy of Performing Arts in Perth). I hold an Associate Diploma of Music Teaching (Honours) and Licentiate Diploma of Pianoforte Performance (Honours).
Music is art, it is a language without words. I am passionate about music and would like to pass that onto anyone who wishes to learn or improve their piano skills and repertoire. Every student is different and the way they learn new things is also varied. There is no right or wrong time as to when a person should start piano lessons, or if they should work towards an exam, as long as they enjoy what they’re doing. I believe this is the key of successful learning. My lessons are tailored individually to suit each student by combining various methods and materials in a fun and interactive environment.
My studio is in St. Ives, Sydney's Upper North Shore - I am available for private lessons for children and adults (all ages and levels).
