Ira commences her piano studies at the age of 5 years old.
She obtained her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of NSW, majoring in Piano Performance. She receives accreditation from the Music Teacher's Association New South Wales as a private piano teacher.
With 15 years of piano teaching experience, Ira taught with the well-known Orff Schulwerk method.
She believes that the study of Musicianship and Theory of music are important to be a good musician, and thus incorporate them in all students' lessons.
Ira teaches students of all levels- beginner to advance, following student’s pace of learning with ongoing dedication to make lessons as fun as possible. Her students have regular opportunities to perform in school concerts and Sydney Eisteddfod piano competitions gaining valuable experience in performing skills.
Many of Ira's students have received As on AMEB piano exams, and highly satisfactory results on Theory and Musicianship exams. She currently lives and teaches at her studio in Eastlakes, NSW.
