Jackson Vickery

Jackson Vickery is a freelance percussionist and educator based in Melbourne, Victoria. He specialises in contemporary and world percussion and has studied and performed internationally with several world-class musicians including Steve Schick, Sō Percussion, Keita Ogawa, Marcelo Woloski and Paulo Stagnaro, to name a few.

Jackson regularly appears as a soloist and collaborator and has performed with several ensembles including the Perth Symphony Orchestra (PSO), Western Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO), Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM), City of Perth Marching Band, PROOF The Band, Milford Street Shakers and Kaboom Percussion. He is currently working with several projects including Jam Jar Percussion and Alma Latina.

Jackson holds a Bachelor of Arts (1st Class Honours) from the University of Western Australia Conservatorium of Music and has participated in several short-courses including the Sō Percussion Summer Institute (SōSI), the Speak Percussion Emerging Artist Program and programs at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM). While studying at UWA, Jackson was awarded the Convocation of UWA Graduates Prize (Highest Undergraduate Recital Mark), Waveney Wansbrough Memorial Prize for Music (Most Outstanding Performance), UWA Friends of Music Alex Cohen Travelling Scholarship and Royal Over-Seas League Honour Prize in Music Performance (Highest Honours Recital Mark).
