Singing lessons available for all ages and levels.
No matter your voice type or preferred genre, I am able to teach good, healthy vocal technique to make you the best singer you can be!
I am a qualified and licensed secondary music teacher (having taught vocal lessons professionally at schools around Melbourne such as Mac Robinson Girls High School and Sandringham State High), graduate of the QLD Conservatorium of Music Majoring in Opera, and am currently singing as part of the Richard Divall Emerging Artist Program with Melbourne Opera amongst other performances and events. I am able to take you through AMEB/Trinity exams as well as singing for enjoyment and leisure.
Classical singing is the grounding of the technique I teach, however singing is singing and learning a good, healthy technique is always useful and will help you to sing your favourite genre and find your style, improving steadily and healthily over time. I do also like to incorporate musical knowledge of music reading and theory as well as some physical exercises during the teaching period to allow students to become holistic singers.
I am fluent in many different styles and have performed in many concerts, gigs, competitions, weddings, functions as well as full scale operas. I am also familiar with French, German and Italian repertoire. I am also able to teach choral and ensemble singing for those wanting to iron out any issues in school singing as well as the professional choral realm.
I teach in a clean, air-conditioned, safe environment (my apartment with keyboard located in Ripponlea) with lounge space available for parents/carers. I am able to travel within the area for an additional fee.
I am open to group lessons of 2 people, however this usually works best with students who are singing together in ensemble singing (ie. a choir or are preparing something for a school music night etc).
I am semi-flexible, with hours working mostly in afternoons and am able to give 30, 45 or 60 minute lessons.
