I am a musician/composer offering in-home lessons in piano, violin, music theory and composition around Toowong. I have over 11 years teaching experience at specialist music studios, schools, and private tuition.
Through my teaching I aim to foster a love of music, as well as guide students to succeed in their personal music goals - whether that is an AMEB exam, an Eisteddfod, preparing for tertiary studies or performing at a relatives wedding. I have experience teaching a variety of students from ages 3 - 63 with whom I have enjoyed cultivating a genuine engagement with music.
Key elements of my teaching style are:
- immersing students in a culture of music making (including performing)
- a clear foundation of solfege, aural skills and theory
- cultivating a growth mindset
- collaborative and cooperative approach with parents/guardians
- structured learning with clear intentions
- performance injury prevention

I began music lessons at age 7, working through the AMEB examinations before going on to specialise in composition through my Bachelor of Music (Honours) at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Griffith University (QCGU). I also studied piano at the Academy of Music Ljubljana (Slovenia) for an exchange semester. After a brief period of running a busy private music teaching studio in the Lockyer Valley, I began my Master of Music studies at the Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt (Weimar, Germany) in 2019, but have had to return to Brisbane due to COVID-19.
As a musician/composer, my work has been commissioned by The Australian Music Centre, QMusic, Ensemble Offspring, Kupka’s Piano, the music box project, Les Trois Graces (Queensland Youth Orchestra), the Brisbane Music Festival and shared at the Organhaus Gallery (China), the NOWnow festival (Sydney), Ostrava Days (Czechia), Impuls Akademie Festival (Austria) amongst others.
