Based in Sydney Australia, Jeff is a professional drummer and educator worth watching. Having played drums since age 11 after being told he wasn’t old enough to play the clarinet, Jeff has been annoying parents, friends and neighbours ever since.
Jeff has studied with both Australian and Internationally renowned drummers including Bec Morris, John Morrison, Jim Piesse, Dale Cleary, Pete Drummond, Chris Brien, Richard Miller and many more.
While studying with Richard Miller (Sydney Symphony Orchestra) Jeff also competed in both the East Coast and National Brass Band Championships, with A Grade band “Waratah Brass”. He was awarded the National Under 19 Snare Drum Championship in 2002, in addition to winning the East Coast Open Age Division in 1999.
He has worked with artists and bands including St Leonards, The Khanz, Garry Beers (INXS), Cosima DeVito (Australia Idol), Claire Clarke and Joel Sarakula, and has also performed on a number of national TV networks.
Joining St Leonards in 2009 led to the opportunity to record in Los Angeles with 5 time Grammy award winning producer John Wooler. While in the US the band also toured the West Coast extensively, and played shows at iconic LA venues “The Viper Room” and “Spaceland”.
In October 2009 Jeff joined the Paiste America Endorsees, and has been using Paiste Cymbals exclusively ever since. For details of his setup, please check out the gear page.
2010 saw the band heading across to the UK after working with producer/engineer Steve Orchid (Travis, The Zombies.) The band played at festivals including “Belladrum” and “Wickerman”.
St Leonards have also had tracks featured on the US TV shows “The Vampire Diaries” in 2012 and and “Beauty and the Beast” in 2013, and are currently working on new material in the studio.
Jeff is also passionate about education, and is currently expanding his teaching numbers focussing on a positive, empowering education for each student.
