Jen Pittock

My name is Jen Pittock and I have recently completed a Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. I find great joy in sharing my love for music and seeing the successes my students have achieved. I have been playing for over ten years now and really value the positive relationships I have had with all of my teachers- which I look to provide with my students as I believe music should be shared in the most comfortable and communicative environment possible.

I am very passionate about musicians' health and ensuring that it is taught from the very start of learning an instrument. Having had several playing-related injuries, I believe that it is very important to address posture and technique early on to ensure that the body is set up to play in the most comfortable way possible. I strive to achieve this by looking at flute size, finger and wrist position, and shoulder position and looking for solutions where needed.

I also offer theory tutoring for students up to grade 5 ABRSM and grade 4 AMEB and do my best to incorporate theory and aural skills into my flute lessons as I find that it enhances my students' musical understanding.

My pricing for flute and theory lessons is $35 for 30mins and $70 for 1hr.

I teach from my studio in Annerley. I can also teach anywhere that is within a reasonable distance by bike or bus, however, charge extra for the inconvenience.
