Flute and general woodwind tutor, Jessi Foxx, is passionate about advocating for music education and its proven benefits as a powerful tool for brain development. With over 20 years of musical experience, Jessi is devoted to creating a supportive learning environment where students can grow, develop, and find their own love of music. Jessi aspires to encourage and inspire students, whether they are just learning for fun or to develop a career in music. Jessi is on the cusp of completing her Bachelor of Music degree at Monash University majoring in Classical Performance on the flute, and intends to further build her instrumental student base after graduating.
In addition to having played with various professional orchestras, including Orchestra Victoria, the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and the Frankston Symphony Orchestra, Jessi has studied under the tutelage of world-renowned low flutes specialist, Peter Sheridan. She has also been privileged to perform alongside Dr Nicole Canham, Yo-Yo Su, and 2022 ABC Young Performers Award recipient, Eliza Shephard. Jessi has previously collaborated with the Melbourne Zoo, Aria award winning Bowerbird Collective, as well as vocalists and instrumentalists across all music streams from the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music and Performance.
Currently holding teaching positions in two private schools, Jessi’s teaching experience covers beginner students to advanced, across both primary and secondary school, as well as students with varying capabilities (including neurodivergent students). Jessi strives to share her passion for music and commitment to fostering the development of the next generation of musicians.
