I am an experienced and passionate trumpet player and educator with a Bachelor of Music Performance degree (Jazz Trumpet) from Monash University. I am a current research candidate in the Master of Arts (Performing Arts) program at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (ECU). I have extensive experience teaching privately and in various school and tertiary settings in Australia and the United States.
I teach with a focus on technique as well as tailoring lessons to individual students' unique learning needs and style, and their individual interests.
I believe in the importance and benefit of music education and the positive impact it can have on the brain, cognition, memory, and child development in all areas (including literacy and numeracy). I also believe in the importance of nurturing a child's artistic and creative development, and the ways in which this can enrich their life (intellectually, emotionally, and socially).
I am a neurodiversity affirming educator and believe in the importance of providing a safe, supportive, inclusive, and accomodating learning space for every student.
Please get in touch if you are looking for individual lessons for your child (or yourself!) and I look forward to meeting you and helping you on your musical journey!
