I am an singing teacher with years of private and in-school experience. I’d love to share my passion for singing with you, for your own enjoyment, or to assist you in your studies (I teach AMEB and Trinity). I enjoy teaching singing of all styles, and can also assist you with music theory, musicianship, and beginner piano. I have a Blue Card.
Jess’ major roles in the UQ Opera Scenes this semester include Santuzza in ‘Cavalleria rusticana’, Elena in ‘Paride ed Elena’, Catalina in ‘Diamantes de la Corona’ and Leonore in ‘Fidelio’. This year she is looking forward to singing in the 2014 National Youth Chamber Choir season in Perth and completing her music degree. When Jess isn’t rehearsing she can be found windsurfing, writing mediocre poetry, or spending far too much time on Pinterest. — with Jessica Taylor. Taylor is a Brisbane-based soprano who recently completed her Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice at the University of Queensland under Sarah Crane. She is currently in the process of completing her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Writing at the same institution. She was First Soprano in the St Stephens Schola for several years and has performed as a soloist with the Badenierie Players, The UQ Symphony Orchestra, The Queensland Mandolin Orchestra, and The Eclectic Light Orchestra of Brisbane. In 2013 she was Open Champion at the Beenleigh Eisteddfod, as well as winning the Bendigo Bank Vocal Bursary. She has also placed in the Brisbane Eisteddfod, MTAQ Vocal Competition, and the UQ Vocal Prize. This year Jessica looks forward to performances in QPAC, Sydney, and Melbourne, and continuing her studies.
