As a qualified, passionate and positive teacher, I can help you or your child achieve highly while learning to love their instrument. Whether you’re interested in popular, contemporary or classical styles, I am happy to guide my students in learning more about what they love and how to master their instrument. This might include AMEB exams, playing as part of a band program, forming their own small ensembles or simply playing at home for fun!
I work within schools as an instrumental pedagogue and classroom educator, with research as one of my many passions. My teaching is informed by current pedagogical research and designed to encourage and engage students at all levels.
I have performed with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Camerata of St. John’s, Queensland Youth Symphony and the Queensland Pops Orchestra. I continue to perform while pursuing my love of music teaching, with my next concert coming up as flutist in Glassworks for part of the Dots+Loops Brisbane concert series.
I teach from home at a very accessible location in Newmarket. There is plenty of parking, with my house sitting a short five minute walk away from Newmarket station and within walking distance of several bus routes.
I look forward to hearing from you – please let me know if there are any questions I can answer for you or anything you need help with, such as renting/purchasing instruments, other equipment or trial lessons. I’m always happy to help.
