Joanna Wolny has completed her Bachelor of Arts (Music) at the University of Western Australia, an institute known throughout Australia for its leading music educators and artists. Prior to her tertiary studies, she gained an extensive primary and secondary music education at the Szymanowski Music High School in Katowice, Poland. Being an active performer and high achiever at the school, she was awarded the Young Artist Award by the Department of Culture in Katowice.
Since moving back to Perth in 2015, Joanna has been recognised for her proficiency with the cello. These include receiving two scholarships from the University of Western Australia’s School of Music on the basis of her proficiency on the instrument (the Dorothea Angus Memorial Scholarship and the DeLano Scholarship). She is also an active freelance musician, and have performed with Quartet Varsovie, the UWA Symphony Orchestra, Perth Orchestra Projects and the Western Australian Youth Orchestra (performing as the cello leader during the 2016 Singapore/Japan Tour).
Joanna provides cello tuition to both children and adults of various experience levels. She offers cello coaching tailored to the student’s individual needs and conducts lessons in an encouraging and friendly environment. In addition to cello lessons, Joanna also offers tuition in music theory.
