Johanna Ide is a bright and versatile multi-instrumentalist from Brisbane, who has worked with leading members of her industry. She is currently in the process of undertaking a Bachelor of Performance on jazz saxophone at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU), which provided her the opportunity to learn under some of Australia’s most accomplished musicians, namely Dr. Steve Newcomb, James Sandon and Jeff Reid.
In her accomplished performance career, Johanna’s highlights include working with world renowned musicians, such as James Morrison and John Hoffman. She is also an active member of community music, as evident through her involvement in the Queensland Youth Orchestras, touring northern Queensland and performing at reputable venues such as the QPAC, Brisbane Jazz Club and Suncorp Stadium. Considering this, alongside her involvement in many other performance ventures, Johanna’s facility across several genres and instruments is clear for all to see.
Since opening her teaching studio during high school, Johanna has had the pleasure of sharing her musical knowledge with a wide range of people throughout Brisbane. Johanna credits her capability in collaboration to all the experiences she has had as an educator.
