Jon Smeathers is a Tasmanian-based saxophonist, electronics artist & improvisor. Jon has performed across Australia and internationally with ensembles such as the Australian Art Orchestra, Allan Browne's 'Two Turks and a Wasp', the Phonetic Ensemble, and many of his own solo projects. Jon also runs two experimental record labels, Ivory Tower Records & ECB Mixtapes focusing on producing releases of up & coming Australian experimental musicians.

Jon currently works as a freelance recording and mixing engineer collaborating with local Australian bands and experimental artists. Credits include Heilbron/Butler/G’Froerer, like peach and silhouette (recording, mixing & mastering), Shards, Best New Reissue (recording, mixing & mastering), Footsoldiers, Melpomene (mastering) and the Phonetic Orchestra with Jim Denley (recording & mixing). Jon has also worked as a sound designer, composer and mixing engineer for Brisbane based art house film company Little Red Balloon Productions, James Newitt & Lucy Bleach
