Greetings!
I'm a cellist based in Windsor with 15 years of teaching experience, offering instruction for all ages and skill levels. I have experience with both Suzuki and traditional teaching methods.
My teaching background includes positions at Camberwell Grammar, Trinity Grammar, Xavier College and various Steiner/Waldorf schools.
I encourage all prospective students and/or their parents to observe me teaching before making the plunge. If you are interested in Suzuki lessons for your child, there will be a few weeks before lessons commence to discuss philosophy, practicalities, etc.
My rates follow the VMTA:
$46 half hour
$92 full hour
On Dandenong Road, along the 5 and 64 tram routes; 10 minutes walk from Windsor Station.

FAQ:
What is the Suzuki method?
This will give you an excellent overview - https://suzukimusic.org.au/suzuki-method/
Do you submit traditional students for exams?
If I believe it would be beneficial for them, and the child (not just the parent!) wants to do it, then yes. I much prefer ABRSM over AMEB.
How do I buy a cello?
a. I recommend students make a security deposit, and borrow the cello for a week to bring to lessons. I can’t give any good advice by pictures alone, or for that matter, brands. I would recommend visiting Whitehorse Music, Bows for Strings, and Alex Grant Violins. Their staff are all very experienced, and will be able to assist; Alex Grant tends to be a little pricier. I recommend my students try at LEAST 30 cellos before settling if they are purchasing a long-term 4/4 instrument.
b. For second hand instruments available over the internet.. this can be a bit of a gamble. If the seller is open to a security deposit in order to bring it to lessons, then do this.
Is cello hard?
Yes, but with patience, self reflection, love and kindness with oneself and the instrument, mastery may be achieved.
Is cello worth it?
Go listen to Emmanuelle Bertrand play Bach!
