Hello!

My name is Josef, and I am a professional violinist based in Melbourne.

I have been playing the violin for over 20 years and have had the privilege of performing around the world with various orchestras and world-renowned artists. I regularly perform with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria, Opera Australia Orchestra, and Sydney Symphony Orchestra. My string quartet, 'Elvina,' has performed in both Europe and Australia, having studied with some of Europe's most elite pedagogues in Munich and Berlin.

I have extensive teaching experience working with many students over the years of various ages and levels, privately and at schools. I strive to create a fun and relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable and inspired to explore their musical potential. My goal is to pass on the skills and knowledge I’ve gained from some of Australia’s leading pedagogues, such as Robin Wilson, Alice Waten, and Sophie Rowell, to anyone who is keen and enthusiastic to learn. While I specialize in classical music, I also love exploring contemporary styles if that’s more your interest!

My qualifications include a Bachelor of Music, three years of full-time study at the Australian National Academy of Music, and a Master of Music Performance from the University of Sydney.
