Hello,
I’m Josh, a cello graduate of the Australian National Academy of Music, and current member of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra Academy.
I’m available to teach cello to students of any age, any level. I encourage enthusiasm, a sense of fun in learning and experience as attributes I bring to lessons. I have the L.Mus.A and A.Mus.A (Distinction) in AMEB exams.
I can prepare students for AMEB exams, competitions/eisteddfods or lessons just for recreation. I’m registered for the Victoria Working with Children Check. I currently live in Abbotsford, and have just moved from Brisbane.
I’ve got experience performing in a variety of settings- soloist with orchestra (I performed the Dvorak Cello Concerto with the Queensland Youth Symphony in 2021), chamber music (I’m a member of The Amogus Trio- we won Music Viva Strike A Chord in 2021), orchestral (I was Principal cello of the Queensland Youth Symphony in 2020-21) and teaching (I’ve seen my parents who are professional musicians- violinist and cellist- teaching their students) and taught students myself.
