Hi there, I'm, Josh! I'm currently a violin teacher, and I'm currently a third year medical student at the University of Melbourne. I've been teaching violin for the past 8 years, with and I have plenty of students ranging from beginners to intermediate/experts doing their AMEB/ABRSM exams. I have so much valuable experience I'd love to share with you, and would love to enrich your experience of music.
I have served as the principle violinist in many orchestras, both in Melbourne and in our overseas tour visiting Prague, Vienna and Venice performing at the Summa Cum Laude festival. Currently at the University of Melbourne, I have led the University of Melbourne Biomedical orchestra through 2 bi-annual concerts, with each being unprecedentedly successful! I also undertook the role of deputy music captain of the college, helping to organise events and performances, that involved dealing with children from early primary to year twelves. I have also had experience playing with the Melbourne symphony orchestra (MSO), as I was picked as an exceptional performer in 2017.
On a personal note, in the year 2017 I scored 47 raw for VCE music performance which put me at the top 0.3% of all examinees! Also in that same year I obtained my LMUSA qualification so firmly believe I have all the tools to be able to teach all levels of expertise.
I am flexible in my teaching as I have the ability to cater for younger students in the technique area, as well as older students with interpretation and virtuosity. I have developed a system for online learning especially during COVID-19, where it will replicate in-person violin lessons perfectly. This system involves weekly notes that are send via pdf so both student/parent can ready weekly, additional free feedback/checkups during the week to video recordings and screensharing via my device that allows the student to exactly see where I am referring to on the music.
If you would like a teacher that is dedicated to their students with weekly notes, help throughout the week and a desire to lead students not only in music but with tips on studies as well please feel free to contact me for an initial free lesson.
