I have completed my A.Mus.A on saxophone, my Grade 6 Theory of Music exam, as well as my grade 8 AMEB exam on both flute and piano. I am also currently undertaking the Diploma of Music at the University of Melbourne. I was also the Woodwind Instrumental Teacher for Great Ryrie Primary School in 2015, teaching Saxophone, Flute and Clarinet to students from Grade 1-6.
I have played in a wide variety of ensembles, both jazz and classical in style, and continue to do so.
I also have experience in tutoring academic subjects, and I am a strong communicator, having completed my Grade 8 Communications Exam with Distinction.
In my lessons, I strive to teach the fundamental skills, ensuring that my students have the foundation to maximize their full potential. These skills include reading music, technical proficiency, proper breathing technique and a strong sense of intonation. I am also able to incorporate music theory into my lessons as needed.
My overall aim is to nurture and develop my students’ passion for music, by providing an enjoyable and fun experience, coupled with a sense of improvement and achievement.
