I've been playing music since a very young age, and my love and passion for the art has been growing stronger ever since. I would love to share my enthusiasm of music through teaching, and inspire my students to share a similar outlook towards music as I do.
I have completed my A.Mus.A on saxophone, my Grade 6 Theory of Music exam, as well as my grade 8 AMEB exam on both flute and piano. I am also currently undertaking the Diploma of Music at the University of Melbourne. My past teachers have been exceptional, and I hope to pass on the knowledge they have imparted upon me.
I have played in a wide variety of ensembles, both jazz and classical in style, and this experience has granted me greater insight into the saxophone in the broader context of the music world.
I also have experience in tutoring academic subjects, and I am a strong communicator (Completing my Grade 8 Communications Exam with Distinction) and I think it is important to be able to convey complex ideas when teaching.
In my lessons, I strive to teach the fundamental skills, ensuring that my students have the foundation to maximize their full potential. These skills include reading music, technical proficiency, proper breathing technique and a strong sense of intonation. I am also able to incorporate music theory into my lessons as needed.
My overall aim is to nurture and develop my students' passion for music, by providing an enjoyable and fun experience, coupled with a sense of improvement and achievement
