I received instruction from some of the most renowned teachers in Australia. My teaching style involves firstly understanding the students long term vision so I can help break it down into achievable, short-term goals. These short term goals are achieved via the correct disciplinary technical exercises presented in a way which is both musically palatable, interesting and performable so that students have music and skills to show for their lessons.
Violin is a beautiful instrument, but also a very difficult instrument to learn. Incorrect technical instruction often creates a brick wall later on in a students progression. A strong foundation and the correct technical exercises are extremely important.
A good starting age for violin is 3-5, however with the correct exercises and pedagogical techniques this learning curve can be overcome.
