Joy started to learn how to play the piano at the age of 7 by starting to play classical music. She was doing some performances for young musicians back in Indonesia under NIRAI Musik, Musiklasika Community and Staccato. She did her classical piano exams with The Associated of the Royal School of Music (ABRSM).
As she continues to play music, Joy grows her passion in piano within the church community and she has been playing with contemporary music bands for about 7 years. She explores all sorts of genres and develops her skills by playing jazz, pop and contemporary music. Joy also took courses to improve her skills at the Conservatorium of Music studying Jazz Improvisation and Jazz Ensemble. She also joined the Young Woman Jazz at the Conservatorium of Music in 2019.
Continuing her passion for music, Joy accomplished her study at Hillsong International Leadership College with Musicianship majoring in Contemporary Music. Along with her study, Joy is passionate about teaching young children as well as adults to pursue their joy and passion for music. She has also been teaching singing lessons for students who are interested in developing their skills in vocal. She believes that teaching can deliver the fun and excitement that she has been getting through music.
