I have fifteen years experience playing violin and studied the Suzuki syllabus and completed a few AMEB exams. I also have a wide range of experience playing in classical, contemporary and musical theatre orchestras.
I have taught violin for a year, and also have loads of experience working with and teaching children of a variety of ages. I usually teach absolute beginners with no musical background with successful results, but am willing to take on any student at a beginner level.
I usually use the Suzuki curriculum to guide my students but am willing and able to use any method desired by my customer. I also teach sight reading and basic music theory from the beginning as well as aural and oral skills so that my students have a rounded education and can take their music in any direction they choose.
I am also able to help my students prepare for an AMEB Preliminary, Grade 1 or Grade 2 exam as well as Grade 1 and 2 music theory. If a student wishes to participate in a performance or Eisteddfod I can help them prepare for it.
I teach at my home in South Melbourne all day every Thursday, Friday and Sunday. I can also make house calls that are within a reasonable distance at no cost.
