Julian is a confident multi-instrumental teacher, bandleader, and able composer with advanced aural skills and an infectious enthusiasm for music. He regularly teaches between 50-60 students per week and is dedicated to creating positive experiences that provide his students with joy and support in developing healthy learning habits.
He has been teaching guitar since 2012 as a group teacher for primary and secondary school kids at YMCA Endeavor Hills, and also as a travelling tutor going from home to home around Melbourne. Currently, Julian teaches at Great Ryrie Primary School in Ringwood, St. Joseph’s Primary School in Hawthorn, AMS Music Centre in Mount Waverly, and privately around Mont Albert/Box Hill.
In the last five years, Julian has performed with a variety of ensembles all around Melbourne, composed music for film, created music workshops for the Whitehorse Council ‘Youth Connexions’ program, hosted small and medium size concerts for students and parents, and completed a Bachelor of Music with high distinction in Jazz Guitar at Box Hill Institute.
Students who continue lessons with Julian do so because he makes a conscious effort to treat people as individuals, giving them time to work through the challenges that are unique to them, and encouragement along the way to always enjoy playing music throughout their lives (not just for the time they are learning it).
