I completed my postgraduate studies in Cello in the USA under the internationally renowned Takács String Quartet. During my studies abroad I completed programs and residencies at the Juilliard School of Music, Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, and Meadowmount School of Music. I have also been involved in the teaching department at the University of Colorado.
I am a founding member of the Orava Quartet, who frequently perform in major concert venues in Australia and abroad. I hold a recording contract with Universal Music, and was privileged to be part of the first release of an album under the Deutsche Grammophon Australia label which topped the ARIA charts.
I have extensive teaching experience of all ages both privately and throughout the school and tertiary systems, and enjoy tailoring programs to suit student's specific needs and learning styles.
I teach a strong technical foundation balanced with a student centered and interest based approach. Beyond catering to high exam outcomes and facilitating a high skill level, I am most passionate about creating a holistic learning experience where students gain confidence, resilience, and self expression through acquiring a life long passion and skill.
I love introducing music to a young student for the first time, and helping mature age students connect back to a dormant passion or take the plunge into learning cello in adulthood.
