Kate Beams - Singing, Acting and Saxophone Lessons

I am a HIGHLY experienced and trained Senior Teacher trained at WAAPA in Music studying Jazz Saxophone and learning clariney and flute as well as voice and Drama. I have had over 25 years experience teaching in both areas and own my own Musical Production company Www.lightupproductions.com. I have been Director of Music and Arts and I am extremely familiar with curriculum and how they are presented in both the public and private domains.
I have taught ATAR, General and Certificate pathways and I am qualified to teach them all.
I also have many colleagues to converse with and to moderate with for consistency with marking or just to make learning fun!
I ensure all my students have a fun and love of learning in a safe learning environment.

In lessons I focus on:

Musicality: which is making music sound lovely and enticing to the audience. I include things like reading notated music, which is a fantastic skill to have, but also aural (listening skills) how to improve pitch and rhythm. I am an excellent teacher as I try various teaching methods and relate to the individual student to ensure they are learning the way THEY need to learn as EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!!!
Vocal/Instrumental Technique: Including breathing, posture, vocal/embouchure production and projection
and uniquely I teach body awareness and how to relate it to their own life experiences
Song Lyrics: I teach students how they can interpret the lyrics in their own way and then how to add to these lyrics through body language, facial expression, dynamics, accents and their voice trig their own experiences to create a more personalised performance
that relates to their audience
Nerves/Performance anxiety and confidence: I work closely with many Neuro diverse and mental health students as well as people just finding they are nervous to perform. I create a safe learning environment that they can grow and feel that they can be themselves.
