Kate Jenkins

Hello, and a warm welcome to my teaching profile!

My name is Kate and I am a flute specialist with a Bachelor of 
Arts majoring in Music and Popular Music, and a Graduate 
Diploma in Education majoring in Classroom and Instrumental 
teaching. I also teach and play piccolo, tenor sax, beginner 
guitar and music theory.

I am a very patient, experienced and qualified flute teacher. I 
have played in a number of ensembles including the 
Queensland Youth Orchestra's Wind Symphony, Second 
Queensland Youth Orchestra, University of Queensland Big 
Band, the Kate Street Big Band, Queensland Wind and Brass, 
as well as musical theatre productions and a number of small 
ensembles throughout school and university.

I am a very passionate teacher having taught students from 
age 6 through to adults, including some deaf and hard of 
hearing students. I tailor my lessons according to each 
individual’s need and am happy to prepare students for 
examinations if wanted or just teach them to play for their own 
enjoyment. 

I have experience preparing students for A.M.E.B. or Trinity 
College examinations and eisteddfods, for which I have gained 
exemplary results.

I currently teach private flute, saxophone, trumpet, euphonium, and drum kit to the students at Faith Lutheran College Plainland.
