Kate is studying a Bachelor of Music (Performance) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She has been playing the harp for twelve years and is currently learning from world acclaimed harpist and teacher, Alice Giles.
Starting in 2014, Kate has been the harpist for the Sydney Youth Orchestra playing with both their Flagship and Philharmonic orchestras. She was also The Metropolitan Orchestra’s Young Artist for 2017 and the harpist for Sutherland Shire Symphony Orchestra, and has played for other Sydney orchestras including Australia Asia Cultural Orchestra, Mosman Symphony Orchestra, TOPS Orchestra and as part of the Australian Institute of Music’s opera productions. Kate also played with The Arts Unit Symphony Orchestra for six years while at high school. She also performs at various events throughout Sydney as part of the duo Classical Elegance.
At age 9 Kate won the Under 14’s section at the Australian Harp Festival Eisteddfod and has received many awards since including 1st place in the 2017 Sutherland Shire and St George Youth Music Awards. She has had varied performance opportunities since, such as playing solo on the Sydney Opera House stage as part at the Arts Unit Festival of Instrumental Music, touring with the Sydney Youth Orchestra 2017 International Tour, regional tours and performing as part of the Highly Strung Harp Ensemble at the Kangaroo Valley Arts Festival.
In addition to harp, Kate plays flute/piccolo and is a singer. She is currently a member of Sydney Philharmonia Choirs VOX and has been a part of the NSW Public Schools State Singers.
