Originally from Rural NSW, Kate has always had a passion for the arts; studying music and drama at school and undertaking external training in jazz and hip-hop, classical voice, as well as Speech & Drama; performing regularly at eisteddfods and other engagements.
After moving to Melbourne to undertake tertiary studies at The University of Melbourne, Kate completed a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Theatre Studies and French, and a Diploma in Music (Practical) majoring in Classical Voice. She then went on to complete a Masters of Teaching (Secondary) at The Melbourne Graduate School of Education. During this time she also completed her A.Mus.A. in Singing and began training at Melbourne School of Classical Dance, completing exams in ballet, jazz, contemporary and character.
Kate currently works full time as a secondary teacher, teaching music, dance and drama from years 7-12, as well as conducting choirs and directing and production managing the annual school musical. Kate also teaches pre-ballet part time at MSCD and teaches singing and music theory from her home studio, whilst also working as a performing artist.
Her vocal experience encompasses predominantly classical music and vocal technique and musical theatre.
